Ode to a sling.
Last Thursday he had shoulder surgery
To assist his recovery he was fitted with a sling
Secured around the waist and across the shoulder
Now his right arm being out of commission leaves him
Struggling to come to terms with learning to be ambidextrous
Mighty difficult it must be said
Tapping out this ode with one finger
Nearly as painful as his shoulder
But for the assistance of this sling aiding his recovery
No doubt but he’d be at sixes and sevens
Speaking of numbers it will be four to six weeks
Before he has the sling removed then a bout of physiotherapy
In a roundabout way this is an ode to a sling
Being openly honest about it he will not be sorry to give it the elbow.

Ambidextrous is a skill not used until we’ve abused ourselves
Then we abuse ourselves for lacking ambidextrous skills… ??

Cheers Ivor, I’m very slowly catching up. You are very busy in the word department these days which is a very good complaint.
