Breakfast at Sniffillies.

Breakfast at Sniffillies.

Sitting at the round table

Himself and three empty chairs

No family member to be seen

Cursing loudly to himself

Fcuk this civid-19

There was a time not long ago

When at the table everyone would show

They may have hid behind smart phone screens

But at least there were humans to be seen

Now it’s all about isolation from the very start

The only conversation heard is safer together apart

With one member being cocooned

“Hidden” away in his “private” room

Only allowed outdoors in his “private” garden

If he happens on someone its I beg your pardon

I’ll be moving on in a short while

Apologies if I’ve cramped your style

On and on and on it goes

When will it end, only God knows?

The whole world brought to its knees

By a raspy cough and frightening sneeze

Wash your hands, keep your distance

All about persistence, persistence

Cough into your elbow, give your nose a good blow

Two meters apart and mind how you go.

  1. It is all surreal, isn’t it Chris? I watched Andrea Bocelli yesterday and the images of the deserted streets of Paris, London and New York were just staggering. The world has been brought to its knees. Stay safe.

    1. And not if but when Fransi it hits those refugee camps and their like it will wipe them away when something that can’t be seen it will be more than difficult to eradicate. Stay home, stay safe and stay in touch.

      2. Thanks Fransi, by the way omitted to mention also sat in on the Andrea Bocelli concert stunning is not the word, he has visited here on a number of occasions the ticket prices are way out of my league as I would have to travel and book a hotel room and they are like gold dust I believe when he plays Dublin.

      3. It was stunning, I agree. I loved that the organist was his only accompaniment. It was powerful in a very different way. And his tickets are an arm and a leg here as well.

  2. I don’t know about where you live, but we can’t even go into an empty restaurant to eat right now lol. Carry out and delivery only in our state. I miss eating out 😦

    1. I live way out in the countryside 20 miles from the nearest town, where now only a supermarket and chemist shop are open, I’m cocooning now for a further three weeks no idea when this will end but once we continue to be safe and well so be it.
